Hi, I'm Aakansha
I build open source tools for the web, share what I learn at conferences, and get unreasonably excited about pixels, canvases, and communities.
Curious about how things work - and the community that grows around them.
I build tools that help developers create on the web.
I've spent my career building interactive experiences for the web and contributing to open source, with projects including Excalidraw, mermaid-to-excalidraw, React Tags, and more.
What keeps me hooked isn't any single project- it's the browser itself. I love understanding how things work under the hood and pushing the limits of rendering, performance, and user interaction to make complex experiences feel simple.
I enjoy sharing that journey through conference talks, workshops, writing, and community building. I've spoken at conferences around the world, organized meetups for the open source community, and love exchanging ideas with fellow developers. If it involves JavaScript, Canvas, or a room full of curious people, count me in.

Kind words
I’m impressed by the stellar blend of storytelling and technical lessons in this talk from @aakansha1216. Not only am I learning practical skills around HTML canvas, but I share the sentiment that @JoshuaKGoldberg and Dimitri Mitropoulos are wonderful people. #squiggleconf ❤️
I knew Math.random was really pseudo-random, but I had no idea it was totally predictable. I’m loving these security-related talks!
Let’s understand how encrypting your data in the browser enhances overall security with the incredible @aakansha1216 ❤️
I always knew @aakansha1216 is a genius, but this talk proves it even more. This highly technical talk teaches us the nuances of HTML canvas, hit boxes, and how to reason about text containers inside Canvas like they do on @excalidraw. Really enjoying learning about this!
And the talk I was super excited about... A talk on implementing text containers in Canvas by @aakansha1216 #JSConf
I learned amazing things about dom and canvas measurements at @jsconf_india in the session by @aakansha1216. There's a lot to learn and apply. #js
An awesome explanation from @aakansha1216 on SSR and hydration at @react_india
Thank you, @aakansha1216, for delivering insightful tech content at @GDGAhmedabad. Your expertise has greatly enriched our community's understanding of emerging technologies and trends. We look forward to more valuable contributions from you in the future! #DevFest23 #GDG
